Vacay Mani #2

Well, the nail gods have not been good to me this trip.  I broke my middle finger before I left (but it was just torn a bit so I wrapped it) and then it broke completely off a few days ago. Then, I broke my thumb nail completely off on Saturday. They broke so short, that I actually tipped them temporarily.  Sigh.... I had used Nail Magic (got it at Sally Beauty) and my nails were doing so well.  I have to admit, I'm really not used to long nails and part it was just my fault. But, I also wonder if being in the pool for a few days weakened them.  I guess I will just have to be patient as they grow back.

For my second vacay mani, I borrowed a Essie polish from my sister.  I also tried one of those Sally Hanson's nail polish pens.  They have an interesting consistency.  You really need to apply the topcoat (which you have to do since they are water based) before you see the final vibrance of the color.  I will have to do some more experimentation.  But, they are easier to use for curves than the brush!  Sorry for the glare on the picture. But, you can get the idea I think.  This was post broken middle finger and thumb....

Ok, have to go get ready for my plane flight.  I always get nervous before flying but I can't wait to get home and see my husband.  Take care!  Hopefully, by the weekend, I will have a new giveaway.

Vacay Mani #1

Hi everyone! I'm still on vacation. I had to do my nails so I went with something more simple.  I didn't bring a lot of polish with me. This was a sinful colors mini polish.

Okay, I'm going back down to our family shorehouse near Seaside Heights today (no I have not run into Snookie).  Take care will post my 2nd mani on Monday probably and then Tuesday I'm traveling back to Cali.

Water Marble Nails

Hi all,  today is my last day at work. I feel so relieved. I go on vacation to see my family back east on Thursday. So, not sure how much I will be able to post in the next few weeks.  I am bringing some polish but I don't think they have photoshop but we'll see.  If not, I will catch ya when I get back.

Thanks so much for following my blog! I love sharing my nail art.  I wanted to do another water marble (because I seem to love torture lol). This one was really difficult. The black kept bleeding and it just became a muddy mess as soon as I dipped my finger. So, it took extra work to get this rolling. But, I like it. I used Zoya Tangy as my green base.  I also did a highlight in different places on the nail using L8R G8R holo to add some color.  Let me know what you think.

Simple French Mani

What a week this has been. I'm exhausted. One of my nails broke. I got laid off a few days ago. So, I'm still caught up in trying to maintain my dignity until my last day next week and not succumb to negative thinking. But, alas, life happens and our nails still need attention. So, I did something simple to take my mind off things.

My husband had bought me Zoya Edyta last weekend. It's a strange color. At first I thought it was like a metallic gun metal silver but in certain light it almost seems like an olivey color.  But, I do like it. It's thick and shimmery.  Ok, off to the office...think positive thoughts for me :).

Horror Nail Contest Entries

Hi all,

I'm in The Laquer Files Horror Nail Contest.  So, if you think mine are the best, click on that link! I need your votes!

My first entry is classic horror film characters.  This took a really long time.  You can't really see that I have Freddy's shears on the left side of his face.  It's so hard painting on a small surface!

My second entry are my creative spin on what horror is for me. What would scare Nikki.

Yes, some of them are just plain annoying to me lol.  But, click on them to make them bigger.  I thought Snuggles (come on he just doesn't move right), Barney eating a kids arm, Dora eating boots, Vampire Elmo (that laugh is satanic) and Zombie La La (teletubbies) were horrifying lol. Snuggles has tried to attack me twice this last week.....  You be the judge lol.
