Giveaway Update - Squeal - Hidden Treasure!

My feet are hurtin! I finally found a Walgreens with the Sally Display for their summer collection but alas - no Hidden Treasure.  The lady took pity on me (I think she was just impressed by my Simpson's mani), and called the store I had been to the night before to see if they had the display.  They have them and she's holding both of them for me.  I'm gonna go pick them up in a few hours.

So, if I hit 125 followers by the time my giveaway is over (May 21st - see link under contest section), I will add Hidden Treasure to the prize chest.

By the way, the Walgreens near my house in Silicon Valley California are having a buy 1 get the other 1/2 off sale. Can't beat that of course, unless you get it for free!

Ok! I got it!  My husband is going to divorce me if I don't stop buying polish. I just bought a little haul last night not to mention the china glaze last weekend....I might have to lay low for a while so we don't end up on Dr Phil.

Simpsons Nails

I never thought it would be so hard to draw on nails but it's a huge challenge. It's very difficult to draw the detail lines and get the perspective right.  I did these in 2 different sessions so that I wouldn't get so frustrated.  The acrylic doesn't lay the best either cause it dries so fast. If anyone has a way besides tooth picks, please let me know.

By the way, if you're interested, vote for my mani http://www.nailjuice.com/p/vote.html.

I did the best I could. It came out decent (don't look to close lol).  For those of you who haven't noticed, I'm having a giveaway.  Don't forget to enter cause free stuff is always nice to receive!

My First Giveaway!

ENDED 5/21/2010

All,

As a thank you to everyone taking time to view my blog, I wanted to hold a giveaway.  I thought it would be fun to give away some jewelry. Since I make jewelry, I thought I'd create something for the occasion that would be nice to wear when you're out and about this summer. It is freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals (sterling silver chain). I picked polish colors that would go with it.

The winner will get this necklace/earrings set:

Polishes:
China Glaze Dorothy Who, Rodeo Fanatic, DV8 (Holo), Seche Vite

Rhinestone Wheel

Sponged Holo

Hi everybody!  Hope you are having a lovely Saturday.  It's beautiful in the San Francisco area!  I decided to try sponging the polish on with using all holo polishes (except base).  I have seen other bloggers do the sponge and always wanted to try it.  I used a piece of a kitchen sponge not a beauty sponge.  I also did my first tutorial on my new you tube channel.  Check it out.  http://www.youtube.com/user/nailtalez

Base - CG Midnight Ride (dark purple)
1st - OPI DS original
2nd - CG BFF
3rd - CG QT
4th - OPI DS Sapphire

This is indoors

I also did them on fake nails for a contest:

Let me know what you think and have a wonderful weekend!

Goin down to Southpark

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great morning!

I wanted to do another cartoon series (cause I'm insane).  So, I did Southpark.  I'm still trying to get used to the acryllic paints.  It's a bit tough to get them smooth and to lay down.  But, since this is only my 5th time using it, I figure it just takes practice and trial and error.  But, in the end, I like them and they came out cute.  I think my fav nail is chef.  I used China Glaze Paper Chasing for the base.

Let me know what you think!

Marble French Mani

Hi, I really hated my birthday nails.  So, I decided to do a French mani variant using the marble technique.  I went down further with the line than I usually do.  But, I like it!

I used China Glaze Go Go Pink, Make an Entrance, and OPI Kinky in Helsinki for the Marble. And just on the natural part of the nail I used Golden Enchantment.

I got a little haul and some storage for my polish. I'll post a picture up on Saturday before I leave for my birthday overnight in beautiful Cambria, Ca.  My fav place.

Happy Birthday Nails

Well, this didn't come out as well as I wanted to. I'll probably take it off on Friday and do something else. I think I just chose the wrong background color.  But, it's okay for now.  My birthday is on Friday, so I was trying to do something festive.

I used China Glaze Light as Air for the base.  I painted on the balloons, then used a sponge with China Glaze Snow on it.  I added some stars and some glitter pieces, painted 30 on the middle nail (I've turned 30 for many years now - but if you can pass why not right.... lol) and then painted over it with CG Golden Enchantmant and Seche Vite.

Spongebob Mani

Hi everyone,

What a week! Anyway, to keep my mind off of the madness, I attempted a Spongebob Mani. I didn't have light blue, so I mixed China Glaze Aqua Baby & Snow. I then used acrylics to paint the pictures.

I had a really tough time with first Patrick and then Sponge. I just ran out of room with sponge. I probably should have used a longer nail. So, I'm the most unhappy with that nail. I love Gary and Patrick though. Patrick's look is definitely how I feel this week lol.

Enjoy!

Scalloped Edges French Mani

I got this idea in my head to use the french guides a bit differently.

So, I gut a jagged edge into them and then put them on my nails etc.

I used China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic & Golden Enchantment.

Flower Power and some Matte Magic

I initially started off with China Glaze Midnight Run (deep purple) design and used Matte Magic to make some alternating lines.  Unfortunately, that only lasts until you wash your hands and then it starts looking really bad. But, I took some pictures of it and then decided to keep it, paint some flowers on it, and just put a top coat over and call it a day.  I actually used acrylic paint for the flowers which was a first time.  Actually, it was way easier than using polish.  So, for more detailed work, I might use that going forward.

That's it for me. Have a great day!

Easter Bunny's I did for a contest.

Ok, this was my 1st time drawing on my nails.  I actually submitted it for a contest on Nail Juice.  She hasn't posted all the entries yet, but I felt like it's bunnys so I'll post it for Easter mani ideas.  She wanted chocolate bunnys, marshmellow clouds, or something cute, sweet, or chocolatey.  And I encompassed all of that.

Here it is...be kind, it was my first time lol.
