Simple French Mani

What a week this has been. I'm exhausted. One of my nails broke. I got laid off a few days ago. So, I'm still caught up in trying to maintain my dignity until my last day next week and not succumb to negative thinking. But, alas, life happens and our nails still need attention. So, I did something simple to take my mind off things.

My husband had bought me Zoya Edyta last weekend. It's a strange color. At first I thought it was like a metallic gun metal silver but in certain light it almost seems like an olivey color.  But, I do like it. It's thick and shimmery.  Ok, off to the office...think positive thoughts for me :).

Horror Nail Contest Entries

Hi all,

I'm in The Laquer Files Horror Nail Contest.  So, if you think mine are the best, click on that link! I need your votes!

My first entry is classic horror film characters.  This took a really long time.  You can't really see that I have Freddy's shears on the left side of his face.  It's so hard painting on a small surface!

My second entry are my creative spin on what horror is for me. What would scare Nikki.

Yes, some of them are just plain annoying to me lol.  But, click on them to make them bigger.  I thought Snuggles (come on he just doesn't move right), Barney eating a kids arm, Dora eating boots, Vampire Elmo (that laugh is satanic) and Zombie La La (teletubbies) were horrifying lol. Snuggles has tried to attack me twice this last week.....  You be the judge lol.

PHD's Greyscale Challenge

Hi,

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  The weather was really mild here but nice. I'm going to the east coast in a few weeks and I'm dreading that heat. So, you peeps from the East (New Jersey area), please get it together and cool it down by mid August.  Maybe I'll try to bring some of our 75 degree niceness along.

Here's my contribution to PHD's weekly challenge. I decided to go with Marbling. I hadn't done it in a while.

Some miscellaneous mani's

Sorry I have been M.I.A.  I actually have been preparing a mani for a contest which I can't post yet. And then, I did the PHD challenge which I will be posting on Sunday.

Here is a pretty simple mani I did a while back using the bundle monster BM02 plate.

Here is a summer PHD challenge design from a few weeks ago. It was a sponged challenge. I actually did sponging on all nails, but it's really hard to tell.

Abstract Manicure

Hi All,

Hope your weekend is going well.  I am packing because I have a company event I have to attend all week in San Francisco (not really looking forward to it but, no choice).  I was going to do a simple professional manicure (lol) but something happened on the way and I came up with a funky abstract. Don't forget, Friday is the last day to sign up for my bundle monster giveaway (see sidebar).

Foil Abstract Manicure

Hi all! Hope you had a great holiday.  I know I am not going to be happy to go back to work tomorrow. The 1st week is our busiest of the month so lots of work to go to. But, I digress.

I decided to try using foil. I wanted to do an abstract that was sparkly for the summer.  Here is what I came up with.  Let me know what you think!  And don't forget about the bundle monster giveaway if you haven't signed up (see sidebar).

PHD Book Cover Challenge

Hi,

This was my entry for the book cover challenge at Polish Hoarder Disorder's site.  Check out her site for the other entries.  I was trying to go simple. It would have been really easy to do a cartoon but I figured I need a break.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th. I think I'm going to try something different on the nails tomorrow.  We'll see how it goes. It's gonna be too hot here (98 ish) for me to be out and about.  Wish me luck :).
