Easter Egg Flower Manicure

I wanted to do something special for Easter, but at the same time recognize Spring.  This is only the 2nd time I've tried to really draw anything but lines on my nails.  The first time is for a contest, so I'll post it later. I really wish I new what I was doing more (lol), cause I think it was a cute idea.  It came out okay (the blue one is my fave).

If you have a chance, let me know what you think!

Marble Madness

Today was the hardest marble design I've ever done. I think it was the polish. I've never had such a hard time (lol I have to laugh cause it's only the 3rd time I've done it).  The China Glaze Lubu Heels probably wasn't the best choice.  But, I was determined.  I also used China Glaze Awakening and Poetic.

Let me know what you think.

Kinky in Helsinki Konadicure

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are having a great week!  I decided to try my new Kinki in Helsinki OPI polish.  I really like the color which surprises me because I'm normally not into a hot pink but it has a purple hue to it and I like it.  I used Konad plate M65.

Let me know what you think!

Here is Kinky before Konad:

I'm still growing out my middle finger and thumb after a break that couldn't be repaired.  Hopefully within the next two weeks I'll be back to normal.

OPI Designer Series - Original Purple Diamond Dust

After my major haul score, I've been dying to try the OPI Designer Series because it looked so holographic in the bottle.

I actually tried two different designs.  The first one was a bit much for me, so I kind of dialed it down a little bit.  But, I'll show both of them.....why not.

The dialed down version:

Basecoat, then 2 coats of Orly Love Each Other.  One lighter coat of Mad as Hatter.  Right above the cuticle line, China Glaze Dollhouse (really reflective and is hard to capture in pictures).  The tips are the OPI DS Original (3 coats).  It looks rainbowish and is beautiful in the sunlight (last photo). Then a line of silver glitter and topcoat.

Now, here is the 1st version:

Started out same as above but no dollhouse, I used actually glitter and put a row of pink and silver glitter and then finished it off with some hearts from my Cina collection.

I don't know, what do you think?

I really want to a do a contest once I get 100 followers.  So, tell your friends to follow me :).

Feeling Sparkalay

I was feeling sparkly last night so I tried out China Glaze Atlantis. This is 2 coats with Seche Vite to finish.  My husband and I went to Cirque Du Soleil and had a nice date night.

St Patrick's Day Mani's

I got home late and didn't have time to take my polish off and do my nails.  So, I still am putting up 2 simple designs I did on tester nails.

I had a horrible time trying to photograph these.  But, I did the best I could.  The greens look much better in person.

Let me know what you think.

Made with base of China Glaze Entourage.  Used China Glaze Emerald Sparkle on Tip and Gold Glitter.

Made with base of China Glaze Paper Chasing.  Did a thick line of Emerald Sparkle and then outlined with 2 thin lines of Entourage.

Ok I'm off to bed :).

Big Haul - China Glaze, OPI, Orly, Seche, New York Glitter

Ok, so I went to this nail supply shop where if you buy more than 10 China Glaze polishes they are 2.50 a piece! Yes, a total score. OPI is 3.50 or 3.8, Orly is 2.75, and I think Essie was 3.  If I ever find my receipt, I will correct any pricing errors.  The Diamond Dust series for OPI was 5.00.  Seche Vite was 3.00 (you just can't beat that!).  New York Glitter was .75.

China Glaze - Atlantis, Turned Up Turquoise (Neon), Black Ink, Lemon Fizz, Frostbite

Dollhouse, Light as Air, Golden Enchantment, L8R G8R, Black Diamond

Aqua Baby, Re-Fresh Mint, Afterglow, Peachy Keen, Metallic Muse

Emerald Sparkle, Paper Chasing, Entourage, Cosmic, Lubu Heels

China Glaze VII, New York Summer Golden Orange Glitter, Seche Vite, Orly Love Each Other

OPI Diamond Dust Sapphire, Kinky in Helsinki, Diamond Dust Original

New Konadicure

Well I had a great day.  I found the place that Kolour Me Krazy goes to and scored a nice haul. I'll post some pictures probably Tuesday night.  Here's a new konadicure.

It's Sally Hanson Ice, China Glaze Branding Iron, Silver Glitter nail art, and Rhinestones. Konad plate M44.

Ok, I finally tried the water marble technique

So, Sally had a sale on China Glaze (2 for 10.00), so I brought Make an Entrance (Pink) and Spontaneous (Purple).

I didn't have a papercup like Colette does from Simple Little Pleasure's blog (see links under nail blogs).  I used something a bit smaller.  But, next time I try will definitely get a dixie cup type thing.  I think it will be a bit easier for me.

Over all though, I think I did a decent job for a first timer.  Let me know what you think.  I promise on the next one the pictures will be better and I'll try lighter colors!

Ok, I tried a second time.  Instead of taping off, I just left my hand in the water and used a Q-tip to wipe off any excess polish. It worked pretty well.  It was definitely faster.  I used China Glaze spontaneous and first kiss.

Off topic: A ring I made a few weeks ago

I love this opal ring.  It was the first time in a long time that I sat down and made something for myself.

My first attempts at nail art

As promised,  here are some of my original attempts in January.  Some are a little sloppy.  So, forgive me. But, I had to start somewhere.  At least you can see from my more recent attempts that I learn fast lol.

This is my 1st Konad.

This is using black matte over regular black polish.  Eh....keeping the matte part up was horrible.  Every time I washed my hands, the matte just looked really bad. I had to refresh it a few times.

These stickers just were really difficult to deal with.  I didn't like how you could still see some of the adhesive material.  Just not a great experience. I added some gold flecks to a few nails.  But, probably won't use those stickers again.

I tried using the shells from my Cina collection.  It was cute actually.  I liked it.

This was eh.  I don't really like the China Glaze base color.  I think I would have preferred a more clear blushy color.

Excuse the sloppiness.  This one was a bit gloppy.  But, it's alright. Just sloppy.

Stripes & Stamps

Hello Everyone!

Last week, I was feeling stripes, so I came up with this:

I basically used 3 different browns.  Pinky & Thumb are China Glaze Platinum Gold.  Middle finger is China Glaze In Awe of Amber.  Other two fingers are China Glaze Golden Spurs.  I used black nail art bottle and added some triangle Cina rhinestones.  I did a different style on each finger.

Then this week, I felt a bit bubbly. I used some old lavendar nail polish which sucked so I won't even mentioned it and then Sally Hanson Navy Baby for the dots (M35).  I'm still experimenting with Konad.  I tried to add more bubbles and it's eh.

My middle finger broke so that really sucked.  I've been having more breakage lately. Not sure what is up. I'm doing the same routine I have always done.  Oh well.
